WBU Birding Field Classes

Classes Begin March 25th, 2008

Six Tuesday Mornings - March 25 - April 29, 2008.
8:30 - 11:30 am.

What a great time of year to get out and enjoy mornings filled with bird song! These structured, relatively slow paced field classes will focus on bird identification by sight, sounds, and life history clues. All field trips will give the student an opportunity to learn more about the birds of Contra Costa County.

Denise is Back!
Leading the WBU Birding Field Classes will be Denise Wight. WBU is very pleased to welcome back Denise. She has been a birder for 24 years, has led bird walks since 1989, and has been an instructor since 1996. For many years she taught classes at WBU. We consider her to be one of the best birders in Northern California.

Desine will be leading us to some of our favorite birding destinations including Sibley Volcanic Preserve, Black Diamond Mines, Martinez Shoreline, Briones-Bear Creek Entrance, Castle Rock near Mount  Diablo, and Mitchell Canyon.

Pre-session Field Trip
There will also be a pre-session field trip to Hidden Lakes Open Space on Tuesday, March 18, 2008.  Cost is $15.  Reservations are required. Please call us at 925- 925-798-0303.
